Even though Armstrong 4008 USA is stamped on the bell, I bet this instrument was made by Amati in Czechoslovakia. The key work looks just like the Artley wooden instrument I reviewed, and the printing on the bell also looks like that instrument. Another Amati instrument is the Forte. Barrel: 64mm Bore: 14.8 at top of left hand joint, 14.55 at the bottom. Serial 765955 I am comparing intonation on this with the Forte. High register |

This instrument is almost as good as the standard model Vitos. (The V40
should be great, but I haven't tried one.) This is a good beginner
clarinet and is sturdily made, so it would be good for use in marching
bands.
Showing sturdy crow's foot key. |
