This clarinet is marked only Penzel-Mueller, New York. It seems to be a later model, produced as a student instrument. For F. in Germany: Serial #7986B Barrel: 61mm Bore LH joint top: 14.5mm Bore LH joint at bottom: 14.5mm Intonation results taken when playing loud and not lipping. See how to interpret these results on the Model Comparison Page. For this test, I pulled almost 1mm at the barrel and 2 at the center.
Key
work quality: Key metal is rather soft, as often the case in early chrome plated keys. It will be OK if one exercises
reasonable care. The clarinet is made with nice feeling wide holes. The
pads are also much wider in diameter than normal. Large pads, 17mm,
thick. Left hand joint, thick size and 9.5mm. This clarinet is most appropriate for: Good for a beginner. There was a batch number under the keys of both keyed joints: |
