Noblet 4

This is another one of my blended instruments.

LH #D70913
RH #D71879
Barrel: 64.6mm Ridenour barrel
Bore LH joint top: 14.8mm
Bore LH joint at bottom: 14.8mm

[25Apr2013: Serial #A35532 measures and plays like it is poly-cylindrical. It came with a barrel stamped 66, and which also actually measures 66mm. The Noblet brochure I have however states that the Noblet 45, 40 and 4 all have the standard clinidrical bore. To me it looks like someone grabbed this joint off of the pile which had received the extra poly-bore.]

Intonation results taken when playing loud and not lipping. See how to interpret these results on the Model Comparison Page.

For this test, I pulled a tiny amount at the barrel and at the middle.

Intonation summary:  This model is evidently not poly-cylindrical. It has quite good intonation though. [25Apr2013 #A35532 is poly-cylindrical.]

Key work quality:  Excellent, typical of Leblanc/Noblet products.

This clarinet is most appropriate for:  Anyone, especially intermediate to advanced players.

Phil's other Noblet 4 reconditioning:
25Apr2013: #A35532 No condition issues, no cracks or chips. Wood and keys in like-new condition. Gold in the logos is wearing off faster than the silver.
